And then there was Wi Fi

It feels good to be back on the Mac Book :) Unfortunately I've yet to have the time or energy to sit down and write a really good wedding ceremony and reception recap. I also haven't had time to upload pics, so Instagram shots will have to do. I hope the mood to write strikes me soon, because I've got a lot to cover!

A few realizations/lessons I've stumbled upon in the past week:

1. My puppies do NOT like the sound of the garage door opening. Or the gigantic dogs in houses with invisible fences that look like they're going to attack you. But they seem to like everything else about the burbs!

2.Having a garage, a flat yard, and a quite street is 100 times better than living in the city. So many people told us we were crazy for leaving our house near downtown, but it was the best decision we could have made!

3. Getting married, honeymooning, moving, and decorating (starting to decorate) a new house all in a matter of two weeks is insane. It's been the most amazing two weeks of my life hands down, but insane none the less.

4. KitchenAid mixers and cake stands make every trip to the kitchen so much better.

5.This place is all it's cracked up to be and more.

More pictures and recaps and decorating posts to come!

Our Wedding: Getting Ready

Read about the rehearsal in my last post, here.

Getting ready was one of my favorite part's of our wedding day. I put a lot of time and effort into selecting the hair and makeup vendors, scheduling everyone, etc., because I knew this could make or break how the rest of the day went. I know if I have a bad morning, feel like my hair and makeup don't look good, or feel rushed, it ruins my entire day. I doubt anything could have ruined that day for me, but I wanted my bridal party to feel relaxed, pampered, and as pretty as I did!

We got up bright and early at 8:00am to start getting ready. My wonderful in-laws set up their sun room with plenty of tables and seating so everyone could eat breakfast together and watch each other have our hair and makeup done. Shorty after the adult bridesmaids got started, my Mom and sisters, SIL and niece, and our flower girl and her Mom (Will's cousin) arrived. It's been a long time since I was in a house full of girls, and I loved every second! Seeing my sisters run and play with Will's family was also by far one of my favorite wedding day experiences.

We were making such good time I waited till last to get my hair and makeup done, which I've heard is a big don't... but it worked well for me.

By the time 12:30 rolled around and everyone needed to get dressed, things got a little caotic. Between stuck zippers, clasps, and everyone trying to get their things together, things got a little crazy. Not to mention the one million buttons on my dress. Once we were all dressed though, our pictures taking went smoothly.

I had a mild freak out when the limo arrived and I realized I didn't have my "day of" bag packed- but as soon as that was resolved, we were off to the reception!

I hope to post tomorrow and this weekend about the ceremony and reception. Then next week about the honeymoon, closing on the house, and the big move! Tons to write about on this little blog in the near future :)

Happy Thursday!

Our Wedding: The Rehearsal

Happy Monday! I posted a few wedding photos here already, but this is my first real wedding recap. My first real post as a wife :) I've got about 10 days to catch up on, so lets get to it.

Our wedding celebration officially began two Thursdays ago on the 9th. That afternoon my Mom and sisters came into town and surprised me at work! After work a few ladies in the family went out for mani pedis and food. I also got to show my Mom and sisters the new house, which they loved and cannot wait to visit and help decorate.

Friday morning we had our final home walk through, and about a million last minute wedding errands to run. Things we saved till the last minute include:

picking up the dress
picking up the wedding bands
dropping off the programs at the church
dropping off final set up items to the reception venue
get my engagement ring rodiumed
finalizing gift bags for wedding party

And a few other little odds and ends. I do NOT recommend this. While the day went pretty smoothly, it was pouring down rain and I would have felt much better relaxing than trying to rush all over town.

funny posts from my bridal party

There was a torrential downpour well into the evening, so a lot of our wedding party was late to the actual rehearsal. The priest was understanding though, and everyone was quickly caught up as soon as they arrived. After rehearsal we headed over to Maggiano's for dinner. It was phenomenal. The food was great, the wine was flowing, and it was so good to have everyone finally together. Atmosphere romantic and very family like. The staff was even wonderful. I didn't put much thought into this dinner and kind of let Will take the lead, and it worked out perfectly. Everyone from Grandparents to the little kiddies loved it.

Will also gave a sweet speech and we handed out our gifts, which were also a hit. I sadly didn't take many pics (as usual) but I plan to post some as soon as one of my family members gets them up!

After dinner we said our goodbyes and me and all my bridesmaids had a sleepover. We had to be up by 8am to get ready, and I was NOT taking any chances of them running late. And that about wraps up our rehearsal evening. I can't wait to see (and post) better pictures, and I can't wait to post about the rest of our week. I want to remember every little detail. This week I will hopefully get to:

Getting Ready
The Ceremony
The Reception
Honeymoon

Here's to my last day of bliss before back to the real world!

Linking up with Molly, Sami, and Leeann.

It's official. I'm a Mrs! Wedding sneak peak.

I'd planed to have a nice list of posts to go up while we're busy enjoying paradise. Obviously, that didn't happen- but I wanted to pop in and post some pics, most of them from our amazing photographer.  I won't get too much into it now, but I will say, the entire weekend was PERFECT.

I am hoping to get updates on the wedding, honeymoon, and house up in the next week or two. So much is going on that is happening so so fast, I want to make sure I capture every bit that I can! But for now, in no particular order, I leave you with this :)
