Wow. What a
weekend. This was def one for the books.
First a
shout out to my lovely almost-hubby. Yesterday we celebrated officially being
engaged for one year. We’re under six weeks away from the big day and at this
point, I’m just enjoying each day as much as possible. I want to experience the
build up and the pre-wedding happiness as much as possible. The pre wedding
happiness is a little more like pre-wedding madness, but we’ll go with the
first term ;)
Now for the
weekend. Friday after work we decided to go downtown to The Banks. The Banks is
a new area of Downtown Cincinnati that has a ton of bars and restaurants. Will
has been there often for work functions, but I’ve only been two or three times.
We went to Yard House for drinks before going to Crave for dinner. Both were
pretty much phenomenal.
I like a
little more laid back environment when I just want after work drinks, and yard
house was insanely crowded with people that were a little doucheier than I care
for. Either way, the beers selection was good and the bartender was friendly.
I could go
on about how much we loved Crave for days. The server was probably the best I’ve
ever had, the ambiance was great, and the food. Oh Lord the food. Will had fish
(I forget what kind. I think sea bass?) and I had a steak. We also had some
drinks and shared the calamari appetizer. Everything was fab.
I had
planned to clean and get groceries after the spa but the weather was too nice
for that. I ran home to meet Will then we went back downtown to have lunch at
Nada. It was warm enough to eat on the patio, and Will had never been, so it
was kind of necessary. Nada has the best Mexican food (and margaritas) of all
time. He was not disappointed.
After lunch
we laid around some more then spent the evening at his parents with his brother
and his family.
On Easter
Sunday Will went to Mass then to his parents to spend some time with them, and
I went to Dayton to have lunch with my family. The boy won’t miss a Mass, and I
couldn’t pass up this lunch because my sweet PaPaw was allowed to come home
from his nursing home for the day!
He has
Parkinson’s, and it’s such an ugly, nasty disease. I am so thankful he
was able to spend a few hours eating good food and surrounded by family and
March Madness games.
After
family time Will and I enjoyed some outside time with the dogs and caught up on
TV. It was the perfect weekend of all perfect weekends. Mondays are never easy,
but I actually feel ready for this one. I am going to attempt a full day of
work, DJ meeting, trip to the grocery, and a hot yoga class. Wish me luck!
How was
your weekend? Happy Monday!
